Les Abattoirs, Musée - Frac Occitanie Toulouse and the Centre d'Initiatives Artistiques du Mirail (CIAM) are delighted to present "Cosmic Horizons" at La Fabrique, Jean Jaurès University.

The Cosmic Horizons exhibition offers a fresh take on the space adventure, bringing together an exceptional collection of works from the Cnes Space Observatory, the Abattoirs Musée - Frac Occitanie Toulouse collections, and guest artist Yann Le Roux.

In a dialogue between artistic creation and space research, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the many horizons of this epic through the imaginations of artists.

The tour begins with a terrestrial adventure highlighting the infrastructures involved in discovering the universe. Inside the Cube, ‘Exploring Space from Earth’ brings together works that reinterpret the bases and devices of space. The artistic creations reveal and question the geographical, aesthetic, political and utopian dimensions of the observation of the universe and its technological installations. In the Tube, ‘Humanity and the cosmos: an inner odyssey’ invites the public to embark on a cosmic adventure.

The artists share their imaginations of space beyond the borders of our planet. They unveil visions that are critical, innovative or dreamlike, questioning the possibilities of space exploration, the future of which is still taking shape.

The exhibition offers a range of reflections that give us all the opportunity to dream and redefine the limits of our own cosmos.

The exhibition features works by 17 artists: Basserode, Véronique Béland, Berdaguer & Péjus, Sylvie Bonnot, Paolo Codeluppi, Raphaël Dallaporta, Dédé, Clément Fourment, Juliette Green, Etienne Hajdu, Eduardo Kac, Yann Leroux (guest artist), Gaspard Maîtrepierre, Bruno Petremann, Romain Sein, Kristina Solomoukha, Erwan Venn.

At the heart of the exhibition, cultural and outreach activities will be run by students from the Master's degree in Management, Documentation and Outreach at Toulouse - Jean Jaurès University.
