Village Numérique is a showcase of Québec's digital creativity, fostering artistic visibility, industry collaboration, and the engagement of diverse audiences across all ages, backgrounds, and communities.
Launched in 2024 to mark the 25th anniversary of MUTEK, a digital creativity festival, Village Numérique includes a circuit of some twenty digital art installations in the Quartier des Spectacles. Free of charge and accessible to all, it features participatory workshops, guided tours and activities organized for the industry.

For You I Will Be an Island (2023) is a series of AI-generated animated visuals inspired by the artist’s childhood memories along the Yangtze River in China. Drawing on these personal recollections, the work imagines a future version of the artist’s hometown; one repeatedly depicted by the AI as submerged or ravaged by natural disasters. Beneath these striking images lies a powerful reflection on our relationship with nature and the urgent need for a more sustainable future.
The title evokes the nurturing essence of a mother: For You I Will Be an Island expresses the hope that the Mother River will remain a refuge, not just for humans, but for all living beings. Poetic and thought-provoking, this work invites us to feel deeply and think critically about the world we are shaping.
