As a result of an Arts & Sciences residency at the Foton Institute (University of Rennes / CNRS), *Le Rayon Extraordinaire* offers a sensitive approach to a reality that is typically imperceptible to the human eye: the polarization of light, in other words, the vibration trajectory of the waves that compose it.
Through 11 works, combining optical principles and digital technologies, Flavien Théry & Fred Murie invite us to explore this hidden dimension, revealing a proximity between the real and virtual worlds, the natural and artificial.
Originally composed of 24 works, 11 of which have been selected for exhibition at the EMG, this exhibition offers a wide variety of formats and techniques, from sculpture to video, through plastic installation, projection, digital tapestry, drawing, painting…
